To Hell & Back is a two person partnership between Andrea Dolter and Nate Fleege. This journey together began shortly after meeting in 2018 while Nate was living in Iowa and Andrea was living in Colorado. Sourcing quality secondhand goods and selling them online is how we began and we quickly found our niche in selling clothing. After our first few Denver pop up markets and a couple name changes, we merged Andrea’s clothing repair and our vintage collection into To Hell & Back. In 2022 we relocated to Milwaukee, WI. In August 2023, we will officially open our very own brick & mortar in the Walker’s Point neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

To Hell & Back aims to recognize this cycle of destruction and redemption that exists as we repair, reclaim, and resurrect everyday items. Since beginning in 2018, we aim to reduce clothing waste and minimize the harmful, unsustainable culture of fast fashion. We support this mission in four ways:

We repair clothing that has been loved to death.

We rescue items from the purgatory of fast fashion and over consumerism/throw away culture.

We reclaim goods, creating original pieces with consciousness, the environment, and sustainability in mind.

We collaborate with patrons, friends, artists, and the community to create an inclusive environment where we can celebrate the redemption story we share individually and collectively.

This is a story of redemption.

The natural order of the world is to unravel into chaos, decay, ruin.

We can love something to death, literally or figuratively.

But life is about cycles.
Seasons, rhythms, movement, weather, history repeating itself.

Each revelation in this pattern is made more beautiful as we grow and bring the lessons and scars from the past.

To ignore and abandon the past because it is too painful, ugly, or embarrassing leaves us vulnerable to make those mistakes again.

When we wear our less honorable histories like a badge, we can show that we have indeed been through the difficulties of life and fought our way back.

As long as we can find our way back to balance - equilibrium - our inevitable spiral into chaos is just a part of the journey.

We’ve been To Hell And Back.
